Located in the heart of Edmonton's River Valley, Vivid is a warm welcoming Salon and Boutique Space. Opened in 2003 by founder Chantal Girard and is now co-owned with her & longtime stylists to Vivid, Nicole Martinson and Emma Spence. The partners pride themselves on being locally owned and female run. Education is at the highest of their priorities to always offer their guests the best knowledge to achieve any look. They also share the same love for sustainable beauty, partnering with lines who also have a passion and love for our planet.

CHANTAL, MASTER STYLIST
Born into a family with a deep love for the arts, second-generation stylist Chantal has always been driven by a passion for style and fashion. Her early years in the industry as a model shaped her vision of a career rooted in creativity and professionalism. With over 25 years immersed in the world of hair, she has become a highly skilled and continuously evolving stylist. In 2003, Chantal founded Vivid Image Studio, one of Canada’s leading eco-conscious salons, recognized by Davines and celebrated for its commitment to sustainability and community impact. Her work has been featured in major publications and media, and she has collaborated with renowned international artists while contributing to fashion weeks, global education, and industry events. Today, she balances life as a stylist, educator, and mother, continuing to inspire through her belief that sharing knowledge fuels growth in an ever-evolving industry.
NICOLE, SENIOR STYLIST
Nicole has been in the hair industry for 12 years. Her favorite part of the job is getting messages from guest’s letting her know, they love their hair. One of the highlights of her career is being able to attend out-of-country hair shows and classes, which have helped her improve her skills. And another one is becoming a salon and boutique owner with Chantal and Emma, at Vivid Image Studio and Boutique. She looks forward to meeting new guests and helping her current clients to feel their best.
EMMA, SENIOR STYLIST
Emma has been in the industry since 2009, starting as an assistant before attending Estelle Academy in 2011. She has taken additional education to further her skills since, focusing on cutting and colouring, as well as attending hair shows for inspiration such as the Davines World Wide Hair Tour. Emma has a passion for session styling, and has worked with Chantal and Nicole on the Western Canada session team. Being born and raised in Edmonton she is familiar with all things local and loves to talk about new restaurants and the latest binge worthy tv show. JAYLYN, JUNIOR STYLIST
Jaylyn completed MC College in May of 2023. She always had a passion for hair, which began from years of competitive dance, styling her own and her sisters hair. Jaylyn joined the Vivid team in September of 2023. Since then, she has completed her apprenticeship and is now working as junior stylist. Jaylyn is a resident of Beaumont, and danced competitively for 14 years. She excels at all blonding services and is a skilled braider. CINDY, MASTER STYLIST
Cindy has been a hairstylist for over 37 years, and she can honestly say she still loves it just as much as she did when she first started. Hairstyling isn’t just a job for her; it’s a way to connect with people, helping make them feel confident, and bring out their natural beauty. While Cindy enjoys all aspects of hair, colour has always been her favourite. She finds it incredibly rewarding to help someone discover the perfect shade that lights them up inside and out. Cindy takes the time to really get to know her clients—their style, their routine, and their personality—so together, they can create a look that truly feels like them. Always learning and staying inspired by new trends, her favourite part of the work will always be the people she meets. It’s a joy for Cindy to build real relationships and be a part of each client’s hair journey, whether it’s a small change or a big transformation.
